Title:  Portfolio Analyst
Location: London/ hyrbid 
Salary: Competitive 

About the Job:  
Own and drive key analyses / reporting tools that enable Beat to assess current and historical underwriting performance, as well as inform critical underwriting and portfolio management decisions.

Main areas of responsibility


Performance Management & MI 
  • Design, develop and test relevant new MI / dashboards to evaluate the performance of Beat’s underwriting franchises in real-time.
  • Maintain and improve existing underwriting MI / dashboards in Power BI.
  • Support the on-going migration of underwriting MI into Power BI.
  • Support with the weekly review of Beat’s underwriting portfolio, assessing performance vs. plan and identifying trends in UW KPIs for each of Beat’s underwriting franchises.

Portfolio Data
  • Act as the team’s liaison with Beat Operations, Beat Systems & Data Governance, and the underwriting / operations teams of Beat’s underwriting franchises to ensure underwriting and portfolio data is up to date and valid.
  • Work with the Beat Systems & Data Governance team to add and improve core UW data points, to increase visibility of critical KPIs for MI outputs.
  • Run regular validation checks on Beat’s underwriting portfolio data

Key Skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are required.
  • Strong communication skills are required, with the ability translate complicated analytics / concepts into simple and relevant messages for underwriting franchises and Beat’s senior leadership, both visually and verbally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and/or VBA is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint is preferred.

Background and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from a top UK university (or equivalent outside of the UK) in a quantitative subject, including but not limited to Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Economics or Finance, is required.
  • Master’s degree or PhD from a top UK (or equivalent outside of the UK) in a quantitative subject, including but not limited to Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Economics or Finance, would be preferred.
