About the role
Our client is looking for a Reinsurance Technician to join their Ceded Reinsurance Team and play a vital role in managing outwards reinsurance administration. Key Accountabilities
- Reinsurance Purchasing Support
- Ensuring accurate and timely recording of reinsurance contracts, financials, and key purchasing controls in company systems.
- Updating schematics, schedules, and other documentation as required.
- Preparing accurate outward reinsurance technical accounts, including proportional reinsurance, cash losses, profit commissions, and portfolio transfers.
- Issuing statements and recoveries while ensuring compliance with contract obligations.
- Regular tracking of aged debt across all accounts.
- Responding to reinsurer queries in coordination with claims, legal, and underwriting teams.
- Assisting in the production of reinsurance returns, reports, and analysis.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as Lloyd’s Minimum Standards, GDPR, and Conduct Risk policies.
- Experience in outwards reinsurance administration and practices.
- A basic understanding of reinsurance contract terminology with the ability to follow conditions stated.
- A general understanding of producing reinsurance accounts and statements.
- General reinsurance market experience with an emphasis to reinsurance administration across both, or either, Lloyd's and company markets
- Excellent numeric skills, with a high standard of accuracy and a desire for accurate data recording.
- Computer literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft products including Excel, Word and Outlook, as well as market database recording systems.
