About the role:
The D&O book is a dynamic book of the US focus clients, major industries include biotech minig cutting edge technology and transportation. Split across 30 different countries with 50% of clients residing in the US. 35% of the book is primary and over 80% low access we seen as leaders in this class.

This is a chance to join a team or focus on the right is with over 50 years of experience between them with knowledge leadership and data at the core of everything we do. 

Our Assistant Underwriters will underwrite business within assigned underwriting authority, and work with the underwriting team to achieve business plan. They will also conduct some underwriting support activities when required.

The successful candidate will do this by:
Day-to-day
  • Building and maintaining relationships with customers brokers business partners and colleagues to achieve business objectives
  • Underwriting (re)insurance risk in accordance with the business plan at and personal authority to meet business objectives
  • Assisted with rating of accounts by analysis interpretation and input of underwriting information into pricing models (e.g. geographical exposure close)
  • Calculating appropriate risk premiums by using company pricing tools for specific lines of business
  • Reviewing submissions including the applications, policy word, inception reports, loss runs, and financial reports
  • Proactively advertising, assisting, servicing and following up with clients on insurance and risk management matters 
  • Providing time to service of new and renewed accounts to according to quality standards
  • Reviewing loss control reports are managing policy endorsement/adjustment requests (of higher complexity) to process any necessary change to the policy (if cannot be completed by OPS)
  • Overseeing monitoring of service level 
Ad hoc
  • Supporting Underwriters for renewals and client meetings
  • Contributing to the following the business planning process for the underwriting Division in order to make appropriate decisions 
  • Supporting other functions as and when required 
  • To do this we're going to need to bring:

  • Ability to manage time, meet deadlines to prioritise effectively
