A leading Lloyd’s market (re)insurer is seeking a Catastrophe Modelling Analyst to join their Reinsurance Exposure Management team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to support underwriting, pricing and regulatory activities across global catastrophe portfolios, working closely with stakeholders and contributing to key business decisions.

About the Role
You’ll support the delivery of catastrophe modelling outputs for reinsurance pricing and portfolio management, using industry tools such as RMS and AIR. The role also involves peer reviewing offshore modelled risks, working with underwriters to ensure accurate submissions, and supporting internal reporting and governance processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality modelling and analytics for account pricing and portfolio roll-ups
  • Peer review and quality check offshore modelling outputs to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Identify risk trends and support event response activities
  • Act as a key contact for underwriters and business partners
  • Support regulatory and internal reporting, including risk submissions
  • Collaborate on project work and contribute to model development and process improvement
  • Assist in governance and information gathering for risk-related decision-making
What We’re Looking For
  • Catastrophe modelling experience using RMS (RiskLink/RiskManager), AIR (Touchstone/Touchstone Re)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills essential; SQL highly desirable; R or Python a bonus
  • Knowledge of data structures, reporting and visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI)
  • Sound understanding of the (re)insurance market and risk principles
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
  • Attention to detail, strong time management, and a proactive mindset
  • Understanding of underwriting, reinsurance structures and portfolio management is a plus
  • STEM degree or equivalent experience preferred
