This role supports the Marketing & Communications team, and you will be involved in all aspects of the department’s work and activity, as we help our business achieve its tactical and strategic goals. Over the course of your apprenticeship, you will learn how a Marketing & Communications team functions, how it engages and supports the wider business, as well as how to create and produce a wide range of outputs to help promote our company.
You will take on increasing responsibility as you learn and develop during your time with us, working across different marketing and communications channels, to target external and internal audiences.

What you’ll do
  • You will be on a rotational programme, aimed at giving you wide ranging experience across the entire department;
  • You will support all members of the department, across all Marketing & Communications disciplines.  This includes social media, website management and development, graphic design, brand management, press and PR, content creation and curation, client events and hospitality and internal communications;
  • You will be part of a high performance and inclusive culture with an emphasis on the quality of outcomes and service;
  • You will obtain a broad understanding of business requirements, developments, current trends and issues, to develop and promote our messaging and content through all relevant marketing and communications channels;
  • You will learn where and how we use these channels in, to develop our messages and distribute them to our key internal and external stakeholders;
  • As well as supporting our activities, and ‘What we do’, you will learn ‘How we do it’, and how a busy team in a large commercial insurance company engages with all departments to help them achieve their communications goals;
  • You will have plenty of opportunities to spend time with other functions that underpin the business we write, and at all levels of the company, up to and including the Executive Committee;
  • You will take ownership of and drive your own development and work in conjunction with us to ensure you are developed to be the best that you can be;
  • As you build your knowledge, confidence and experience you will take on more responsibility and will be expected to manage and run your own portfolio of work.
Who we’re looking for
  • You will have a strong desire to learn and build your career;
  • You’ll need to be open minded and willing to get involved with all aspects and disciplines within the team;
  • Being organised with a head for planning ahead, alongside being able to adapt and respond when things quickly change;
  • Being bright and curious, and always asking questions to develop your knowledge and understanding;
  • Being prepared to challenge the status quo thoughtfully with tenacity and resilience.  We want to know what you think and feel about what we do, so you can directly influence how we can all improve the quality of our work.
You’ll also need:
  • Some Marketing or Communications experience is desirable;
  • Good English language and grammar skills;
  • An interest in writing and reading would be an advantage;
  • Good interpersonal and relationship development skills;
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills.

What do we offer in return?

  • A strong focus on diversity, wellbeing and sustainability;
  • Employer-supported volunteering;
  • Flexible/hybrid working;
  • Continuous learning;
  • Study support;
  • Structured and tailored career development.
