Main duties
  • Responsible for the delivery of the Underwriting Support Model to the Marine and Aviation underwriting teams
  • Reporting line responsibilities as defined by the Group Head of Operations
  • Oversight of the performance of Underwriting Operations Technicians reporting to you
  • Conducting end of year and mid-year performance reviews
  • Responsible for providing training to new joiners reporting to you
  • Monitoring of KPIs
  • Oversight of KPIs ensuring all tasks are completed within SLA
  • Daily monitoring of Underwriting Operations Dashboard making your direct reports aware of any missed SLAs and any upcoming SLAs to be resolved
  • Oversight of central mailbox
  • Daily monitoring of central mailbox ensuring that the Underwriting Operations are maintaining the mailbox with emails being dealt with within 2 working days of receipt
  • Responsible for ensuring that tasks as defined in the Underwriting Operations task list are continuously transferred into Underwriting Operations away from the underwriting teams
  • Assisting the Group Head of Operations with the delivery of the Underwriting Support Model, both in London and in the expansion to the overseas offices. This is to include, but not limited to, involvement in outsourcing, creation of procedure documents, and conducting training workshops to outsourced business partners
  • General policy administration processing, including tasks contained within the Underwriting Operations Task List defined and provided by the Group Head of Operations
  • Preparation of materials and meeting attendance as required by the Group Head of Operations
  • Other tasks as required to assist the Group Head of Operations
Skills and Competencies
  • Experience as an Underwriting Operations Assistant
  • Word - Intermediate
  • Excel - Intermediate
  • Comfortable with using in-house underwriting management systems (Charisma)
  • Very good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Work as part of a team
  • Self motivated
  • Capable of working to a timetable when required
  • Attention to detail and proper regard for accuracy
Education
  • GCSE Maths and English grade B or above or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 other GCSE's grade C or above
