About the Role
We are looking for a Group Risk Manager to join us in this newly created position to drive greater transparency and consistency across this high-growth international Group. The role will be a part of a small team which is highly visible, requiring interaction with senior stakeholders across all business divisions globally.
The individual must be an independent, self-starter who is able to lead initiatives and collaborate with senior management constructively and effectively. The individual will support the Group Risk Director, divisional Chief Risk Officers and local risk and compliance teams globally to develop and embed the Group risk management framework and methodologies for identifying, assessing and escalating risks.
Key Accountabilities
  • Support the Group Risk Director in the development and embedding of the risk management framework across the Group, including the firm's risk statements, tolerance, etc.
  • Facilitating risk and control assessments across the Group, including the analysis of current mitigation to key risks, identification of emerging risks, and adherence to entity risk appetite statements / tolerance. Highlight gaps and / or weaknesses with corresponding solutions.
  • Risk reporting and analysis for Group level risk committees, incl. updating and socialising the Group risk registers for approval, establishing key risk indicators (KRIs) to monitor and measure risk exposure, aligning to strategic objectives within the business.
  • Support with following up on closing out committee actions.
  • Promote a strong risk culture throughout the organisation by fostering awareness and understanding of risk management principles. Work collaboratively with the business to challenge and improve processes and implement solutions.
  • Part of the development plan would include attending key projects / working groups to present the risk management update and provide 2nd line input and challenge to the discussion.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • University education with a minimum 2.1 grade achieved.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with other risk managers and key stakeholders across all functions, providing valuable second-line risk input and challenge. A high degree of professionalism required.
  • Strong analytical, written communication and presentation skills to identify risk trends, root causes and mitigations with attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in enterprise risk management within the insurance industry or financial services sector. Strong knowledge and experience of enterprise risk and control frameworks.
  • Ability to understand and convey complex matters relating as part of risk event oversight, coordinating with all functions on the reporting, investigation and escalation of risk events.
