Overview of Role
To support the management of the Affinity and Special Risks portfolio with a specific responsibility for oversight of key coverholders and facility relationships.
Main Areas of Responsibility

Account management – managing the day-to-day oversight of the operation of the pet / consumer portfolio including review of bordereaux, reconciliation of premiums received, data quality assurance etc.

Relationship management – maintaining strong working relationships with the key underwriting and operations staff at PPL / coverholders

Business development – sourcing and converting new consumer business opportunities

Analytics – developing, analysing and interpreting full scope of MI to ensure maximisation of underwriting return, projections of underwriting results and ongoing profitability of the Affinity portfolio. .

Underwriting - working with coverholders to ensure appropriate underwriting standards observed including pricing, terms and conditions, bordereaux management, Conduct Risk aspects and overall consumer outcomes.

Pricing – working with pricing actuaries to develop and implement pricing strategy

Compliance – ensuring Newline minimum standards
Required Skills and Levels of Competence
Technical expertise

ACII/ALMI qualified or willing to work towards

Basic knowledge of actuarial pricing and being able to liaise with actuaries is preferable

A background of drafting and reviewing direct to consumer Policy Wordings

Possesses strong analytical skills

Has an understanding of financial issues and the key performance indicators that drive the business plan and determine the organisation’s success.

Understands the legal, financial and regulatory issues which affect the line of business.

Has the ability to negotiate to a mutually successful outcome

IT – strong Access, Excel, plus good level of Word, Outlook and Powerpoint
