Responsibilities:
  • You will work closely with the Property Programs team to support in the underwriting of the book of business.
  • Working closely with the Unit Head you will be actively involved in reviewing and analysing portfolios of business.
  • You will be primarily responsible for assisting on the Property Programs team, although you may occasionally be required to assist on the other teams within the department.  
  • You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate populating of pricing tools, performing detailed spreadsheet analysis on portfolios of business. As the Underwriting Analyst, your key responsibilities will involve  
  • Assisting the Unit Head in all aspects of underwriting the Property Programs business.
  • Fostering positive working relationships with Brokers and Clients and providing a professional and prompt service.  
  • You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate populating of underwriting pricing tools and performing detailed analysis on portfolios of business.
  • Provide underwriting analysis support to the underwriting team in relation to the areas of underwriting, rating, underwriting analysis of bordereaux data, credit control and reporting.
  • Assist with provision, and development, of management information relating to the programme portfolio utilizing the Power BI reporting suites.
  • Assisting in the monitoring adherence to Lloyd’s Minimum Underwriting Standards for all managed syndicates in relation to Underwriting.
  • Undertaking the preparation of appropriate management reports in a timely fashion in accordance with the Company and compliance requirements.
  • To assist the underwriting team in all administrative aspects of the placement of underwriting risks within the Property team.
  • Working through periods of high demand and able to prioritise workload.
  • Undertake any other related duties as may be reasonably required.

About you
  • Have an eye for detail and produce accurate work.  
  • Have a good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with familiarity of the key analytical tools within the application.
  • Strong numeracy with good analytical and mathematical skills.  
  • A understanding of the underwriting function and role.  
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in all dealings with Syndicate information.  
  • Able to represent the Company and build professional relationships at all levels.
  • A natural negotiator and ability to effectively communicate.  
  • Be able to work under pressure and prioritise a busy workload.
  • A competent user in IT applications, including Excel.
