About the role 
Our Summer Internship Program is a paid, ten-week program that offers students the opportunity to enhance their education and obtain hands-on insight into the insurance business. The Summer Internships available will be across various areas of the business such as Underwriting, Claims, Operations, Distribution, Risk, Audit, Finance, IT & Human Resources. 

The program incorporates a range of experiences including:

• Classroom and On the Job Training
• Executive Lunch and Learn Speaker Series
• Social and Corporate Networking Events
• Mentoring Program

Every intern becomes a member of a Sompo department for the full duration of the program and works on projects that have an impact on the business. From processing policies to meeting with brokers, our interns work alongside their managers to deliver results and apply their classroom experience in real-world situations.

Projects & Networking
Interns will complete an individual project which explores a current Sompo International business need and involves conducting research and presenting their findings to our senior leaders.

At Sompo International, our employees enjoy sharing their experiences and insights, mentoring our interns and helping them prepare for a career in insurance.

The internship experience culminates at the end of the summer with both an intern-specific social event and a company outing, where interns have the chance to interact with employees from across  the organisation – and more!

What Does it Take to Intern at Sompo?
Some of the qualities that we look for in our summer interns:

• Currently enrolled at university studying a 3-year undergraduate or master’s degree
• A final classification of 2.1 or above.
• STEM discipline
